Mundakopanisht. It is meant for mendicants who remove their hair-mundanam– only. Hence the name. brahmaa gives brahmopadesham to his son athrva muni. It explains that doing karma is like travelling in a boat having holes. It is difficult to cross the ocean of samsaara with karma. By yajnaacharana one gets svargaloka. After all, punya is utilized in svarga, jeeva need to come back to samsaara with another body. “ksheene punye martya lokam vishanti”. samsaara bandam is eternal and cyclic. It cannot be escaped by karma. Hence jnaana path is a better solution than karma. Total renunciation is the principle here. All jeevas come and join back in paramaatmaa is very clearly explained here in this mantra.

 

द्वा सुपर्णा सयुजा सखाया  समानं वृक्षं परिषस्वजाते

तयोरन्यः पिप्पलं  स्वाद्वत्त्यनश्नन्नन्यो अभिचाकशीति ॥ (..)

“dvaa suparnaa sayujaa sakhaayaa samaanam vruksham parishasvajaate,

 tayoranyah pippalam svaadvattyanashnannanyo abhichaakasheeti”. (3-1-1)
