Vedavratas.: – veda vratas or brahmaa yajnas, as we say, are to be performed before the marriage by the guru himself. There are four samskaaras under this category, and all the four are to be performed simultaneously. All these four are clubbed and performed by the guru and sishya together in four years’ time and, they perform some yajnas and give some daanas to aachaaryas and others during these veda vratas. So, these yajnas are performed one in every year and the shishya or brahmaachari must observe and study these vratas or yajnas closely. After the last vrata is performed during fourth year, the aachaarya being satisfied with the performance of shishya, declares that the shishya’s education is completed and permits him to go home tand enter into gruhasthaashrama.
